Once upon a time; there was a nobody

Who is Rango? A nobody from nowhere. He is an actor, but not a real one. In his imaginary world, he should be a hero. When he was shot in the real world, he wanted to continue his false heroic role. So, he started to brag about himself because he had nothing. He was a paper tiger. He planted the seed of hope in the heart of the people, but he had no resources to help them but his lies. He climbed the ladder of power, but he became the puppet of the established system.
In this animation, Rango could liberate his people eventually because it is a western type story, and it should have a happy ending, but how about our real world?
In our world, populist leaders approach the people with false promises and the system with false loyalty. Their primary tool is creating a bipolar society, taking advantage of the gaps among the people, and making them the enemy of each other. They complicate the community's problems, corrupt the political system more than before and push the country to a total collapse. At last, they make life worse for everyone except their friends. So beware of Rangos around you.

Populism Vs Totaliterism

The U.S. people have a weird fear of Totaliterism. One can find a trace of that phobia in American fiction and movies. From their point of view, there are some primary sources of Totaliterism:
A dictator and his gang
A group of fanatic religious people
A group of fanatic people who believe in a specified ideology
An intelligent machine or a bunch of machines
However, I think the most dangerous threat to democracy is Populism, not Totalitersm. According to the last U.S. election, we can figure out that a populist leader can ruin the basis of democracy. In that case, the system has a democratic shape, but indeed, a dictatorship is growing fast in the heart of the system.
I think there is no way to fear the new technologies. Although the latest technologies make some limitations and problems, they will help us have a better life at last.
